(Each lens requires its own independent calibration to ensure temperature accuracy across all fields-of-view.)
Shipping Costs
If you are unable to drop-off or collect your equipment to Red Current, we can provide fully insured shipping of your camera equipment with costs as follows:
- DPD Collection & Return - £50.00+VAT per camera
- DPD Drop-off Point & Return for £40+VAT per camera
- DPD Return Only - £20+VAT per camera

For the standard service please allow for 7 working days from receipt of the camera.
'Fast Track' Service Option
If the standard turnaround time for your thermal camera testing is not quick enough, we can provide a 'Fast Track Service' with a turnaround time of 3 working days from receipt at an additional cost of £25+VAT per camera.

Fixed-mounted and drone-mounted thermal cameras can also be calibrated provided we have access to the live image stream and camera controls. Where applicable, this may require the customer to supply access to the relevant licensed manufacturer software.

What is the difference between calibration and adjustment?
Calibration verifies how accurately the camera measures temperature using known blackbody reference points.
Adjustment modifies the internal parameters of the camera to correct deviations. Most users require calibration only, unless the device is significantly out of specification.

Our standard calibration service has a turnaround of 7 working days from the day we receive your camera. We also offer a ‘Fast Track’ service which has a 3-day turnaround from the day we receive the camera.
When is UKAS‑accredited calibration required?
UKAS accreditation is typically required only in specific regulated, laboratory, or contractual environments where ISO/IEC 17025 compliance is explicitly stated. Most commercial and industrial thermography users do not require UKAS‑accredited calibration, provided the calibration is traceable, repeatable, and properly documented.
Are your thermal imaging camera calibrations UKAS accredited?
No. Red Current’s thermal imaging camera calibrations are traceable to national standards (ITS-90) and carried out using precision blackbody equipment, with a full calibration certificate provided as standard.
For the majority of commercial and industrial thermography users, including electrical, mechanical and building inspections, UKAS accreditation is not a requirement. What matters is that the calibration is performed correctly, clearly documented, and fully traceable using the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90), which our service provides.
