Will thermal imaging cameras drop in price?
Thermal imaging is not just a growing service across the UK. In the US, thermal imaging is hot stuff, and thermal imaging camera manufacturers must now pass rigorous quality tests to be granted SEI certification.
Thermal imaging is a perfect service for electrical panels, data centers, electrical control rooms and server rooms. In fact, it can be applied practically anywhere, and adds extra safety to any controlled inspection.
Consumers may very well have their smartphones and tablets, and whilst we here at Red Current love and indeed use them rigorously for our communications, we believe some of the biggest technological advancements are being made in thermal imaging technology. One such advancement is FLIR recently adding Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging (MSX), a patent-pending technology, to their T450SC / 650SC Series of thermal imaging cameras.
Well, it was bound to happen at some point! Thermal imaging is big business in the UK, with businesses nationwide utilizing this technology to slash their energy bills and become more efficient. Now, then, a real thermal imaging smartphone attachment has surfaced allowing iPhone and Android users to turn their smartphone in to a thermal imaging camera. It's called the IR-Blue, and it all started on Kickstarter
We probably know better than anybody that thermal imaging is a fantastic way for home owners to increase their green credentials and create a more efficient home, and now one council in the UK has started to back the technology for its residents. Clackmannanshire Council is all set to start using thermal imaging technology to help homeowners improve the energy performance of their homes during 2013, a move which could lead to further councils across the UK offering the service. The scheme apparently will be on a first come, first served basis, so if you live in that area and would like to see how energy efficient your home is we would get in quick.
With Christmas just around the corner (hasn't this year gone fast!) household energy bills are set to rise as colder weather sets in across the UK and higher electricity use occurs due to Christmas decorations.
Across the UK hundreds of businesses every single year spend unnecessary money on energy bills due to their properties not being insulated enough.
