Mechanical Thermal Imaging Surveys
Thermal Imaging Surveys of Mechanical Building Services
Mechanical building services such as motors, fans, pumps, compressors and vacuum sets can all benefit from thermal imaging surveys. This is because they all include components such as bearings, gears, belts, shafts, couplings, etc all of which are designed to transfer mechanical energy with minimal friction. As these components degrade, the friction produced increases as do component surface temperatures.
As part of Red Current's predictive maintenance survey, we can inspect all operating mechanical plant to identify areas of potential problems. The experience of our thermography specialists and the capabilities of the equipment allow a large number of plant to be inspected during a survey identifying such faults as misaligned/ worn/ incorrectly lubricated bearings, over tightened/slipping drive belts and misalignment of pulleys.
Depending on your maintenance strategy, we can develop a thermal imaging survey that will meet your operational and production objectives. Typical maintenance applications include:
- Commissioning newly Installed plant and equipment
- Providing Baseline Images and Analysis of equipment health and performance
- Periodic Trending and Analysis designed to meet your equipment's availability targets
Our example thermal imaging report gives you an idea of the level of service we can provide. Please contact us to find out how we can work with you to develop a CBM programme that will meet your requirements.
